In a surprising news report, it has been confirmed that India fast bowler Umesh Yadav and Man of the series against Australia, Ravindra Jadeja will miss some part of IPL 10 for respective teams.
Wisden India reported that BCCI decided to give both Jadeja and Umesh rest after a lengthy home season in which both played almost every game for India. Jadeja and Ashwin bowled more than 4,000 deliveries each in the Tests against South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Australia.
The duo will miss first 3 weeks of IPL 10 for their teams Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Lions. Umesh Yadav impressed everyone with his fitness and speed despite playing 12 out of 13 Tests for India.
Even before the start of IPL, big names like Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, R Ashwin, JP Duminy and Quinton de Kock have withdrawn from the Indian Premier League for one reason or another. Kohli, Jadeja and Umesh will be back for their franchises after missing initial games, but the rest of the players are set to miss the IPL entirely.
