Ben Stokes was roped in by the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise for 14. 5 crores as he became the highest paid player in the tenth season of the cash rich tournament.
He along with his RPS team mates recently unveiled their team jersey in Pune. Pune owner Sanjeev Goenka presented him with the team jersey and also to his other team mates. Stokes sounded excited as he took part in his first IPL-based activity. The launching of the Pune teams jersey meant that the players will interact with the media. Stokes was very happy as he will now meet up with the rest of the players as the preparation camps will begin.
Stokes revealed an interesting fact regarding England Cricket in this interaction. He was of the opinion that the amount of competition the Indian Premier League and the Big Bash League of Australia offer is of the highest quality. He said that there is nothing beyond this competition as the world’s best players take part in these competitions. This competition is what England lack according to Stokes.
“The exposure you get in the competitions like these (BBL and IPL), you don’t get in England. You get to play and share dressing room with the best players in the world, which is missing there,” said the England all rounder.
Stokes who previously has played for Melbourne Renegades will sport the number 55 in his jersey.
