Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma, who follows Football keenly, took to Twitter to reveal that he received the Spanish home jersey for the 2018 World Cup in Russia to support the members of La Roja in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Rohit received the traditional red and orange colors of Spanish jersey as a reward for his loyalty to the Spanish national side who won the World Cup in South Africa back in 2010.
Earlier, the Indian opener had received WWE Championship belt, after winning the IPL 2017, from Paul Michael Levesque better known by the ring name 'Triple H'.
Rohit in an interview called himself a huge fan of Real Madrid. “Yes, I am a huge fan of Real Madrid and follow the English Premier League. Real Madrid is by far my favorite because they play aggressive and smart football. Its tough to catch up on all the games but I do try and follow as much as I can,” he claimed.
He named David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, and Fernando Torres as his favorites.“(Zinedine) Zidane and David Beckham are my favorites and are at the top of my list but (Fernando) Torres is a close third, I enjoy watching him play. Unfortunately, I don’t own any of their personal jerseys but team jerseys, of course!"
Other than Rohit Sharma, India former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a Manchester United fan and Former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith is a keen Liverpool supporter. Cricketers showing interest in Football isn't new.
India's skipper Virat Kohli is also an ardent fan of Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo and has shifted his loyalty from Manchester United to Real Madrid because of the Portugal forward.
