Ashish Nehra during his last international match against England in 2017 | AFPOne of India’s most liked and talented left arm seamers, Ashish Nehra has officially announced his retirement from all forms of the game. He will play his final farewell match against New Zealand, when India plays a T20I on November 1 at Nehra’s home ground of Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi.

Ashish Nehra made his debut in February of 1999 against Sri Lanka during the Asian Test Championship under the captaincy of Mohammad Azharuddin. His injury riddled body could only play 17 Tests, with the last Test coming against Pakistan in 2004. Though he played 120 ODIs and 26 T20Is for India despite missing 5 years from 2011-2016.

He made a brilliant return to the Indian team thanks to his performance for CSK in the IPL 2015, where he picked 22 wickets. Fittingly Nehra will get to say good bye to his fans on his home ground in Delhi.
